Program Structure
The course load of the program consists of a total of ten courses and a final project. Instead of a final project, students have the option of writing a master's thesis. The master's thesis is expected to be more comprehensive than the final project. The students who would like to graduated with the master thesis have to take eight courses. As an alternative to the main Financial Economics curriculum, the program offers its students an area of specialization, called 'path' (Quantitative Finance path) and it is reflected on the diploma. The official designations and the structures of the main program and the path are as follows :
- Financial Economics (with thesis)
4 core course / 3 elective source / 1 seminar course - Financial Economics (without thesis)
4 core course / 6 elective course - Financial Economics - Quantitative Finance (with thesis)
4 core course / 3 elective course (2 course from quantitative finanse course list) / 1 seminar course - Financial Economics - Quantitative Finance (without thesis)
4 core course / 6 elective course (4 course from quantitative finanse course list) - CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) University Affiliation Program (without thesis)

After completing the course load, a student must also submit a final project to graduate. The final project, which is supervised by a faculty member, requires the student to put into applied use the analytical and quantitative skills acquired through his or her course work.
The duration of MSc in Financial Economics Program (without thesis) is maximum 3 semesters and with thesis is maximum 6 semesters. Courses are held between 19:00 and 22:00 during weekdays and between 10:00-16.00 on Saturdays.
